Books, Books, and more Books! This is the first thing that comes to mind when you think of libraries, but our libraries are more than just books. Missouri City provides residents with a ton of resources and benefits! Here are just some of the resources that the Missouri City Libraries include:
- Computers for public use are available at this branch by reservation or on a walk-in basis. Missouri City Branch Library provides free WiFi access to the public at the library.
- Printing from public-access computers is accomplished through network laser printers. You must have a library card to print.
- Photocopying and Faxing are also available for a small fee
- Missouri City Branch Library is committed to providing Adult and Youth educational, informational, and cultural programs for its patrons. For a list of programs, go to the library’s Calendar of Events.
- Electronic Newspapers for the Houston Chronicle, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times
- There are millions of books available through E-Books and Audiobooks
- Homework help is available through Brainfuse Live Homework tutoring. Live help from 2-11 PM, and 24/7 access allow students to receive live, one-on-one assistance from tutors in English/Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Tutoring is available in English and Spanish.
- On-demand Virtual Computer Classes on subjects that range from what a computer is to Google Docs
- The George Memorial Library in Richmond houses the Genealogy and Local History Department’s collections and resources.The genealogy department has resources that focus on the southeastern United States, Fort Bend, and the surrounding counties through the Regional Historical Resource Depository (RHRD) program and include materials relating to the history of the South, federal censuses, genealogy, American Revolution, the Civil War, etc.
Fort Bend county has eleven locations, and there are four locations in Sugar Land and Missouri City ready for you to take advantage of all they provide.
